Wildlife Photography

One of the most wonderful places to get wildlife photographs is on the Pee Dee River in central North Carolina.

The Pee Dee area is abundant in this beautiful wildlife. Great blue herons, egrets, osprey eagles, and bald eagles are some of the incredible birds that thrive on the ecosystem of the river.

White-tail deer are plentiful throughout much of the region. Red foxes can be seen on a rare occasion and coyotes also reside in the river area.

Rural Photography

There are many rural areas in and around the Pee Dee River basin. The region is peppered with old home places, barns, chicken houses, farms and other artifacts of the years past.

Back roads can be full of surprises. A small house in the middle of nowhere surrounded by massive oak trees reveals the details of an old home place. Large barns with oversize doors leading into an upper loft tell stories of the harvesting of hay in the summer time. And the abandoned wood building where the dirt road and the rail line meets supports the notion that a general store was once in business at the location.
